URBAN COMBATIVES

Lee Morrison, founder of Urban Combatives in the UK, has influenced thousands of people with his no-nonsense, effective training. We urge you to view the
UC YouTube channel, and to visit the UC website. If you want to see what Combatives is all about, check out Lee’s material.

URBAN COMBATIVES NETHERLANDS
Michiel is a certified UC instructor under Lee Morrison, and has his school in Amsterdam.
Be sure to check out Michiel’s superb online training course. The UC Netherlands YouTube channel contains valuable information and shows what Combatives training is like. Also, take a look at his website.

ACTIVE SELF PROTECTION
Daily videos of real-life encounters which teach many lessons about awareness, avoidance, de-escalation, the fighting mindset, and examples of both successful and failed self-protection. Highly recommended for examples of how violence plays out in reality, as opposed to in movies and on television.

RORY MILLER
Rory Miller is a former law-enforcement professional who has survived many real-life violent encounters. His books on the nature of violence offer insights that are almost NEVER discussed in martial arts schools. We have all of Rory’s books and we re-read them often. Unfortunately they are only available in English but if you are serious about understanding violence so you can avoid it, these are must-read books.

GEOFF THOMPSON
Considered one of the “godfathers” of Combatives training, Geoff Thompson’s videos and books are essential study materials if you hope to have greater insights into Combatives as a method of self-protection. Geoff does not seem to have a website, but there are numerous videos on YouTube featuring interviews with him, and showing his system of self-protection.

MANAGING VIOLENCE PODCAST
Joe Saunders hosts
a very informative podcast where he interviews the best of the Combatives community. The podcast is English only, but if you speak English and want to gain Combatives insights, this is highly recommended.

KELLY McCANN
Like Lee Morrison, Kelly McCann’s teachings on the nature of practical, workable self-protection have influenced thousands of people around the world.
His YouTube channel is well worth studying, and be sure to visit his website.

TONY BLAUER
Developer of the SPEAR System, Tony Blauer is another of the giants in the field of Combatives / Self Protection. Check out
his website and his Vimeo channel, Spear University.

TIM LARKIN
Tim Larkin has very important insights into the nature of violence and how to avoid it, or deal with it if avoidance is not possible. Here’s
his website and this is his YouTube channel.

MARC MACYOUNG
Marc’s insights into the nature of violence, and how to avoid / overcome it, are very important. It’s essential that you don’t let your own behavior, attitude, or words increase the chances of a violent encounter! Marc helps you understand how to avoid this.
